Holy Trinity Church stands on Wood Green on the north side of Witney, a little church on the village green near the pub. The town of Witney has grown to include the earlier village of Woodgreen, (the model for the village of Thrush Green in the books by Miss Read), but the church still has a distinct village character and strong links with the local neighbourhood.
Holy Trinity Church choir sings at the 10.45am service every Sunday and rehearses on Wednesday evenings. They sing traditional and more modern church music by a wide range of composers. They are a friendly group who are always pleased to welcome new members (and take them into the pub after choir practice). If you can sing and would like to join please get in touch with Paul Francis ( ), our organist and choirmaster.
Holy Trinity Church was built in 1848. The inside of the building was re-ordered in 2004. It still has its simple and clean character, but it is now an accessible and flexible building for everyone to use. The Acorns toddlers group meets in the church on Thursday mornings and afternoons. Once a month there is a service, Little Oaks, for pre-school children. This includes about fifteen minutes of activities and worship, followed by refreshments and time for play. There are children's activities every Sunday and occasional special services involving children.Services in Holy Trinity
