Prayer: One of Our Four Pillars

We believe prayer is central to the life of our church. It helps us to grow in faith, to listen more carefully, and to stay rooted in the presence of God. It shapes the way we live and how we care for one another.

At St Mary’s, we follow the daily rhythm of prayer with quiet services open to all:

  • Morning Prayer at 09:00 every day except Saturday and Sunday

  • Evening Prayer at 17:30 every day except Saturday

We use the Church of England’s Daily Prayer app
Daily Prayer App and Podcast
and have spare iPads if you would like to borrow one.

Some people find it helpful to come regularly during Lent or Advent. For others, joining even once or twice brings a deep sense of stillness in the week.

You do not need to have been before. Just come in and sit with us. The prayers are said slowly and simply. There is no need to say anything unless you wish to.

We treasure the daily rhythm of prayer and the sense of belonging it brings.
